Fun with astronomy

I don't know if this is something anyone on my flist is interested in, but I'm turning into a bit of an astronomy fangirl lately, since I took several classes about it last semester and this year.

I just discovered a very nifty little programm that I'd probably have killed for as a kid. It's freeware and called stellarium and can be downloaded here:

www.stellarium.org/de/

The program shows you the sky at any given time or place on earth. You can fast forward it or look for past constellations , try to find the time when the great Cthulhu returns or just look at the names and distances to the stars and planets. It's also possible to show the stars within their constellations and everything.

I could toy with the thing forever :)
*is happy little nerd*
