The Musketeers

Watched the first episode of the The Musketeers last night, because I can physically not walk past anything that has swashbuckling in it (also the reason why I had to watch Black Sails) and I enjoyed it.

It's again a show making up stories about the characters from the book instead of filming the original story (which for some reason isn't done. It's a brilliant, funny and dramatic book, yet filmmakers always feel compelled to change so much about it that it's barely recognizable). But in this case it works to an extent and its fun (loved Constance's attempt to distract the guard). I like the main cast, especially Athos, who has this air of what my (polish) husband calls Eastern bloc realism. He looks at every bad thing that happens to him like it absolutely was to be expected.
Also like Peter Capaldi, even if his Cardinal was very muahaha-evil.

It's not a show I have much to say about but I think I'll stick with that one for a while.
